Welcome to Our City Rocks!
Our mission is to connect city dwellers to the hidden geological wonders that exist all around them. You will learn about different rock types, geologic processes and your neighborhood’s history all in your own backyard. We use the beautiful rocks that make up every city from the buildings, sidewalks, monuments and more to inspire you to see your city through a geologist’s eyes. Founder & Lead Educator
Lex Stodden
Lex (They/Them) is a trained and experienced geologist with a Masters of Science in Geology, focused on Sedimentology & Stratigraphy. Lex has worked as a Geologic Consultant across multiple industries for over 5 years however, their true passion is teaching geology. Lex started Our City Rocks in 2023 with the dream of sharing their love for rocks, connecting people to their city in new ways and making geology fun!

We teach curated geology lessons for people of all ages!
Private geology classes for birthdays, business events or other occasions are available. Schools can also book us for afterschool programs.
